Tortuguero National Park Walk

A guided walk through the trails of Tortuguero National Park — 29,000 hectares of tropical rainforest, home to sloths, monkeys, manatees, and crocodiles.

Tortuguero National Park covers 29,000 hectares of dense tropical rainforest and is one of the most important nesting sites of the green sea turtle (Chelonia mydas). On this guided walk, a naturalist leads you through trails cut through the forest canopy, explaining the natural history of the park and the ecological relationships of its species. The forest and waterways are home to sloths, monkeys, agoutis, coatimundis, and manatees. Birds are abundant — toucans, trogons, egrets, herons, and anhingas — along with crocodiles, turtles, and countless colorful butterflies, including blue morpho.
